POLL: Film/Video/Animation Channel on WC?
Hello All,
I've been asked to start a poll to gauge interest levels for a film/video/animation channel here on Wet Canvas. This would be an area where you could put links to your creative videos, animations or short films and show them to the Wet Canvas members for viewing, critique and discussion, much like you would do with your other creations.
Please join in and vote in the poll so that we can see if adding such an area to WC makes sense. Once we see what the numbers are, we'll then move to the next step of creating guidelines and finding moderators and guides for the new area.
Thanks!

Re: POLL: Film/Video/Animation Channel on WC?
I am not doing anything now WITH film/video/animation... its been over 40 years since I was seriously considering this media... BUT it is the one production area that currently interests me the most. IF I can find good access and guidance I would certainly want to play myself; and if nothing else, discussing theory and practices is very much of interest.
I honestly believe that Media Arts are THE place to be in the arts right now...
oh and we might want to include gaming as well, as I have noticed that guite a number of artists on The Internet Movie Database (IMDb) are also working projects in the videogame industry. Increasingly there seems to be a mashup occuring at this nexus.

I agree with tort, "I honestly believe that Media Arts are THE place to be in the arts right now..." Some of our most creative and innovative artists are working in the areas of film, video and animation.
Adding a forum for this would keep WC relevant to a whole new gneration of artists, and potentially expand the WC membership greatly..

Re: POLL: Film/Video/Animation Channel on WC?
I used to be excited about animation and media arts and even entered a rotoscope project early in my membership. ( http://www.wetcanvas.com/Community/P...ls&proj_id=536)
I can't believe there aren't more people now, than ever, who find this interesting. But one of the problems I found with that, and any project in which I've participated, is that there is no clear way to find the projects' listings or keep up with it, which is why I thought animation died in WC.

As you can appreciate I have to keep my eye on several forums daily. First think I did was subscribe to all the forums I need to watch to get an email every morning listing new and amended threads (see Thread Tools at the top of each forum).
I always subscribe to each forum using the RSS link and Google Reader to be notified during the day of new threads. The forum number is the number at the end of the forum url and it is used to subscribe in Google Reader in the following format, 8 being the forum number in this case.
http ://www.wetcanvas.com/forums/external.php?type=rss2&forumids=8
Hope that helps.

Smile, here's hoping that with it's own channel, video projects might be much easier to keep track of... but we need more voters or this could die an early death. :-(

I saw your wing machine video on your website. Very inspirational! I put a notice in Ab/Con, so hopefully some of those bright artists will express and interest in seeing their artistic interpretations take shape in motion.

Oh yes, non-flying flying, thanks! That was so much work for something so simple. I never want to make gears by hand again, they take so long to perfect and they have to be almost perfect or they don't work. I was coming from a place of zero machine knowledge, so the learning curve was wild.

But artistic desire is such a sublime compulsion

Video is an art-form in its own right why not have a forum , providing the ground rules are clearly set out and moderated correctly...looking forward to it , It's a good Idea

A video and film section might be great fun, but alas, I do not have the bandwidth to watch much in the way of online video, so I will not be able to participate at all.
