The La Sal Mountains
On the way back to the house, I once again spotted the Morrison Cliffs and their stunning blue shadows, this time in evening light.

All in all, it was a great painting and biking trip. I could have easily spent weeks there and painted non-stop. I’ll definitely be going back again, pochade box in hand, mountain bike trailing behind me. Oh, and the non-painters in the group (Tom and Jake) loved Moab too.
Access to Moab:

Driving: Moab is along highway 191 in eastern Utah. It’s about a 6 hour drive from Denver, Colorado, in good weather (via I-70 west to Hwy 191 south). It’s about 1.5 hours from Grand Junction, Colorado.

Air: Moab has a small airport, but it may be easier to fly into Grand Junction, rent a car, and drive to Moab.
