Title--Innocent Dreams Year--2002 Size--8x10 Medium--oil on canvas covered wood panel It was serendipity that I found WC! at the very time I was returning to painting after an 8 year absence. It's an amazing place with the most generous, friendly artists who share all they know. A place where I have met good friends, have had my art education increased beyond measure. Where answers are a post away. This painting is of one of my twin daughters at age 2, I am beginning to do small studies to experiment and learn more. I am so thankful for this on-line art home!! "A great artist...must be shaken by the naked truths that will not be comforted. This divine discontentment, this disequilibrium, this state of inner tension is the source of artistic energy"....Goethe |

Title: Dahlia Size: 22"x30" Paper: Arches 300lb cold pressed Watercolour Paper Paints: All Winsor Newton Watercolour Paints Year created: 2002 "I found WetCanvas after an exhaustive search on the internet. I yearned to belong to a supportive community that was interactive and friendly. I found all of that and more with WetCanvas. Since joining in June 2002, I have painted at least double what I would have on my own. The encouragement and guidance from other members is superb and it is such a joy to me. Through the Art Projects and other challenges presented by members informally, I have attempted techniques and subject matter that I wouldn't have ordinarily, learning and stretching myself as an artist in the process. This site has been a most treasured gift - one that I unwrap each time I log on." Emily Lagore (mustcreate) |

Title: 'Eyes of Sugar' Size: 5x7" Medium: Acrylic Year: November 2002 I joined WC! almost a year ago by the recommendation of a fellow member. At the time, I was creatively floating around mostly in country crafts and begun to dabble in the finer arts. I spent a great deal of time floating amongst the forums and experimenting with the different mediums but found acrylics is what I liked working with and Animals were my subject. I read as many posts as I could along with instructional threads trying to learn the art and submitting my paintings and drawings for critiquing. Within 6 months I was submitting my entries in fine Art competitions and making a living selling my creations. I owe where I am today to WC! Thank you Scott for creating this Godsend of a site, and you fellow members who through your guidance, encouragement, critiquing, support and friendship, gave me the ability to pursue what I have found I love to do. You all have made me a stronger person who now believes in who I am and have given me the self esteem that I lacked. |

Title: "St Paul's, Moon and Eye" Size: Diptych, 16"x24" (each canvas16"x12") Medium: Acrylic on stretched canvas Year: 2002 When I first came to Wetcanvas it was mainly to chat in the Café and the oil forum. Because I am painting for a living I eventually found the business forums and now I never leave them! More established members gave me great advice on exhibitions and presenting my work and now I'm glad to be able to share a tidbit or two that I've learned along the way! I do warn all artists that Wetcanvas is very addictive before I give them the url. :) One of the advantages of being disorderly is that one is constantly making exciting discoveries.--A. A. Milne |
