What I think of WC? Well, I've been addicted to this WONDERFUL art site since day one. With so many helpful and talented artists here it is my "Art Haven". I always get some very useful critiques for my art and also have given out a few myself. It has helped me grow as an artist and I give my thanks to Scott and all the WC staff for running this web site. WC is, and will always be my favorite art forum on the web. Thanks also for this opportunity to participate in the second installment of the "WC Art Gallery". Looking forward to seeing my fellow artists works displayed. Although I have submitted a graphite drawing for this gallery, I am very much into Pen & Ink work these days. A BIG HELLO to all my P & I Forum people!!

Title: The Urn

Technical info: This image was taken with an Olympus E-10,1/640 second at f 5.6 in normal program mode. It was taken with available light.

WetCanvas is a very special place for me. It has allowed me to share my images, thoughts and questions with a community of artists that has no geographical or political borders. I have been exposed to many styles of art and have learned new techniques and ways of seeing. I have also enjoyed sharing what I have learned. This place has helped me grow as an artist. The people posting here are truly remarkable in their talent and vision.

I thought it appropriate to post the first image I ever uploaded to WC.

Title: Memories of Brittany
Size: 11"x 9" Tech pens
Medium: 01 and brush pen on Fabriano Artistico HP

Hello everyone,
My name is Chris and I live in the beautiful County of Devon with my husband and two dogs..... Jake and Ally, hence my screen name.
I started to paint in the spring of 2001. My neighbour bought me a lovely box of watercolours..... something I had always wanted to try but never seemed to get the time.... and I was off like an express train, painting anything and everything very badly.
Then I found Wet Canvas and slowly built up courage to post my work..... Am I glad I did.
I worked my way though Watercolours, Pastels and Coloured Pencils... reading the articles and trying the demos.
Getting so much helpful advice in all the forums. I joined lots of projects, including the Post Card project where I made so many good friends from around the world.
Suddenly I sort of fell into the pen and ink forum and was inspired by Artdudes' Deadwood project.... I haven't looked back since. All the help, advice and encouragement I have received from you generous people is truly wonderful.... Thank you.
What does Wet Canvas mean to me? It is a very important part of my life now.... especially the smashing people I have come to know. Thanks Scott and your hard working team for making all this possible.

Title: A Flower
Medium: Water Color and Water Color Pencil

I first joined WetCanvas in June of 2001 after ArtyHelen told me about
it. Didn't take me long to join. I live in an area where I am the only
Artist and being here has given me something I've not had since I
graduated College, being around other Artists and exchanging ideas.

I have to blame WetCanvas for all the money I spend now in Art Stores.
There is so much to see and new things I want to try. I'm a dedicated
Color Pencil person. They are my First true love in a medium, but being
here, I see so many different mediums That I must try, and now have
found something that I really have to do more of, Watercolors.

I could of entered a piece done in Color pencil. But this is done in
Watercolor and Watercolor Pencil. It would have never been done
without finding the help and support I get from the people here.

Title: Gravity
Size: 20"X 20"
Medium: oil
Year: October 2001

I call this piece 'Gravity'. I chose to submit this one because it is a completely different direction from my usual work. And that is what WC! has done for me. I am ordinarily a realist but when i view the wonderful works of other WC! artists i become inspired to try new things. I did this painting in an effort to work beyond my 'normal' mode. I had a great time with it!
