![]() | Tape as much as you need to along the sides. Remember, this is not permanent, just tacked down enough to stay in place until a painting is completed. And yes, when you do the opposite side, pull the canvas tightly to minimize slack. |

![]() | Here's a second solution, this time using a pre-stretched, pre-primed canvas as a base, I apply my cut canvas' as previously described. When painting locally, I sometimes do this if I want to take a spare canvas along. You can use tape or even lightly tack in spots using a staple gun. |
![]() | Folding the corners once again. And you can now see that the extra 2" allowance is just right for mounting to stretcher strips. The base canvas happened to still be in it's shrinkwrap so it was even easier to apply the tape. |
