Linda Deb Carly Marsha Phy...llis Linda, Deb and Phyllis all scout out places to paint on the island. Later that evening Carly and Marsha arrive and we all go out to Sea Island Road to paint. The evening meal was wonderful with all types of deli meats to make sandwiches and wonderful wine to round out a picnic atmosphere. |

6:30 and up early to go paint at Village Creek Landing for our sunrise Plein Aire. What a time we had there. I think this was our best group outing with the exception of missing Linda, who had to leave to go to another paint out. We missed you Linda. 12:00 back to the house for lunch and a quick clean up and rest. 2:00 We all took a tour of the studio of Jim Ellison, who is a friend of mine that lives off the island close to Darien, Georgia. He is a member of the Georgia Coastal Artists and we all came home green with envy over his studio space. 4:30 Plein Aire painting on the west marsh. Carly, Ruth, Marsha and Deb all go out to paint the evening sunset over the marshes. Phy...llis stayed home and rested her bones. Sandy and Cheryl arrive. 7:00 Dinner time was good for everyone. Some ate in and others went to the Red Barn. Cheryl and Sandy both said the Red Barn had the best seafood they had ever eaten. 10:00 Art talk and critique time. We all discovered so much during these times. I would recommend any group doing this whenever the chance arises. |

Saturday July 20, 2002 6:30 a.m. Plein Aire Painting at Taylor's Fish Camp 11:30 a.m. Lunch back at the house. Deli foods and cool beverages. 12:30 p.m. Georgia Coastal Artist's Show and Sell 4:00 p.m. Plein Aire Painting at Christ Church until dark. 7:00 p.m. Dinner - In or Out, you decide 10:00 p.m. Art Talk and Critique - problem solving and discussion ----------- Sunday July 21, 2002 6:30 a.m. Plein Aire painting at Village Creek Landing - Sunrise 12:00 noon Lunch 2:00 Studio Tour - Friend Jim Ellison 4-5 Sunset on the Marsh - Plein Aire 7:00 Dinner - In or out 9:00 Art Talk - Art Talk and Critique - problem solving and discussion ---------------- Monday - Ruth does demo and explains color theory to llis all day. Tuesday - In her excitement, llis explains to Deb what Ruth showed yesterday. They do the exercise again and learn a lot. Wednesday - Deb and llis paint St. Mary's River. Thursday - llis crys all day because everyone is gone. |
